Flowers Blunt Hand Held Pewter Laying Tool

A stunning Victorian inspired laying tool with engraved floral patterns.

This tool is used for holding down threads and wires in position whilst preventing any excess tension from being applied. It is also used widely by silk ribbon embroiderers who use it to stroke the ribbon in order to help it lie correctly or curve nicely. They are even used by cross stitchers to help the plies of thread lay side by side and not cross over.
